My Students

My students all have special needs and they are amazing kids. Autism, Down syndrome, developmental delays are some of the challenges my students face. One of the most impacting challenges are students with density processing difficulties. Many, if not all, of my students have trouble regulating their sensory systems. This impacts all aspects of their day. There is a sensory compression vest that is meant to help children's bodies learn to Regulate. Once a student is better regulated, they can then often sit and are open to learning opportunities that weren't there for them before.

My Project

I work with children with all types of special needs but most of all they have sensory regulation difficulties. This impacts every aspect of thier day making it hard for them to sit and focus on learning throughout thier day.

There is something called a compression vest that provides propriceptive input (like a tight hug) into these children's systems.

These compression vests help children's sensory system learn how to regulate itself in order to be able to pay attention and learn. It's helps children feel comfortable in thier own Skin and allows them to be open to learn and develop and grow.
