My Students

"If you can be anything in this world, be kind." -Unknown.

We may be a small class but we all have large hearts!

In my classroom, I have eleven powerful and great young little minds in my class. As a second-year teacher, teaching a classroom of students with a range of extensive support needs in a low-income neighborhood can be challenging especially now as we are currently doing Distance Learning. It is hard not to be able to interact with my students in person and to watch them interact with peers as well. However, we are doing our best and making the most of the current situation. We are learning to take it day by day and continue to stay healthy and positive and most of all continue to be ourselves and spread kindness!

My Project

I am a second-year Extensive Support Needs teacher, teaching an amazing group of 2nd and 3rd graders. We are all upset that we cannot be in the classroom together to learn, play, and interact with one another but we know staying apart is important for now. Distance learning has been especially difficult for all my students to adjust to. We all miss being able to see our friends and teachers in class. I have been working on finding ways to help make Distance learning easier for my students. Since we are all meeting virtually it can get tough.

Sensory toys are a great way to keep all my students focused.

I want to be able to create more sensory boxes for each student so they can have tools that will be helpful for them to use during class. It will also serve as a prize box for when they have finished a long day of school online. I would appreciate any and all support with this project.

Thank you!
