My Project

As a preschool special education teacher, I work with young children who have a wide range of developmental needs. Many of my students experience challenges related to sensory processing, which can impact their ability to focus, regulate emotions, and engage in classroom activities. This project aims to provide a variety of sensory toys and tools to support their learning, comfort, and self-regulation.

If fully funded, I will create a calming and engaging sensory corner in my classroom using the items listed.

The beanbag chair will offer a soft, comfortable space for students to relax or take sensory breaks when feeling overwhelmed. Toys like the liquid motion timers, squishy toys, and fidget sets will help meet their tactile and visual sensory needs, while interactive tools like the busy boards and suction spinners will support the development of fine motor skills through hands-on play.

These materials are not just "fun"—they are essential for many students with autism, ADHD, or sensory integration challenges. Having the right sensory supports in place allows my students to better participate in classroom routines, connect socially, and experience joy in their learning.
