Sensory Tools

Help me give my students sensory tools to promote calm bodies and focused minds.

My Project

These materials will be used to help students with special needs feel comfortable and calm in their general education inclusion classrooms. Often, the general education setting can feel overwhelming and cause frustration for students who have sensory differences or extra needs. These tools will provide students with the sensory input they need to focus and feel successful amongst their peers.

Weighted lap pads are beneficial for students who need deep pressure or seek touch when they are feeling fidgety or frustrated.

Noise cancelling headphones offer some respite from everyday environmental noise that most people can ignore but can be extremely stimulating for students with auditory sensitivities. Small, handheld fidgets work well for keeping fingers busy while minds are trying to focus.
