Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with amazing learners and who work hard. They never stop exploring new concepts and ideas despite learning, cognitive, speech, social/emotional, and behavioral disabilities. In my classroom, we understand that everyone learns differently and we embrace many different modalities to help learn something new. As their Special Education Teacher, my number one goal is to help them feel safe, happy, and comfortable in their learning environment and have the tools to access new information and experiences.
Many of my students need sensory tools to feel comfortable, confident, and included.
My Students require many sensory and movement breaks throughout the day to regulate their emotions and body. These headphones and weighted mats are a great step that allows my students to feel their best in any environment throughout the school day. This is so important for inclusion!
