My Students

Next year, I will be a Reading Specialist at a Title I School in Virginia. I will work with many students who are struggling in the area of reading. The students I will be serving will be range from Preschool to 2nd grade.

My students will need lots of extra support and new, exciting reading tools to help make reading engaging and meaningful for them.

My Project

Reading can be tough for young learners! Little readers require a ton of brain power and focus in order to do all that is required to read and comprehend text.

Sensory tools are intended to help promote self-regulation, increase focus, and improve participation.

With this project, my students will have access to a multitude of sensory tools, including Play-doh, poppers, liquid motion bubble timers, shimmer markers, and more! These tools will be made available in my classroom to all learners to use as they need. Once my little readers are self-regulated and focused, they will be better prepared to read and learn!
