My Students

As a school counselor, I am lucky enough to work with all students, grades pre-k through 2nd grade. Our students are inquisitive, thoughtful and come to school with a range of personal experiences and backgrounds that shape how they think and learn.

My students have a variety of sensory needs, which can sometimes interfere with their ability to learn and stay focused.

We need a plethora of "tools" to help students stay engaged and motivated to persevere when work gets challenging.

My Project

Sensory tools, including fidgets, stress balls, etc. have been proven to help kids feel a sense of calm and maintain focus, which helps with behavioral and academic success. Unfortunately, we have many students who are academically underperforming. As a school counselor, it's my job to make sure kids are building resiliency, fine-tuning their inter-personal skills, and developing coping skills and the strategies necessary to have a successful and happy future.

These sensory tools will help give some of our underachieving students a chance to soar!

These kids are our future! Let's help them be the best they can be by giving them the tools necessary to learn.
