This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sensory tools are essential for helping students who struggle with focus and attention in the classroom. Items such as fidget spinners, stress balls, noise-canceling headphones, and textured mats allow students to channel excess energy and regulate sensory input, which can improve their concentration. These tools offer a safe and productive way for students to self-regulate, enabling them to engage more effectively in lessons and activities. By having these tools readily available, students can maintain focus, which in turn supports their learning and participation.

The goal of this project is to provide sensory tools that cater to the diverse needs of students, fostering an environment where every child can reach their potential.

These tools will not only help students stay engaged but also reduce frustration and anxiety, allowing for more positive interactions with their work and peers. By giving students the resources they need to focus, we aim to improve their academic performance, increase their confidence, and support their emotional well-being.

What makes my students special is their unique learning styles and needs. Many of them face challenges that affect their ability to concentrate, such as ADHD, sensory processing issues, or anxiety. Despite these challenges, they possess incredible potential and creativity. With the right support, like the sensory tools provided by this project, they can excel in a classroom environment that nurtures their individual strengths. By meeting their sensory needs, we can help them grow into confident, capable learners.
