Sensory Tools for Special Ed

My Students

I have a classroom full of students who are eager to learn. We are a program that services 30 students that are each on an IEP for a variety of different reasons. The reason include but are not limited to Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and speech delays. Our students are all three years old because we believe early intervention is key to their academic success. These students love to explore and are finding different methods of how to express themselves.

My Project

This project has been created to help our students succeed in the classroom. These tools will be used in ourclassroom to help sooth our students and help them focus on what is being taught to them. The items such as fidget tools help them to focus while they have an outlet to get out some of their anxiousness that can come from factors such as noise and lighting in the classroom. Some of the fidget tools that we have requested are a vest, weighted lap rest for anxiety, sensory balls, water wiggles, sensory tubes. We have already seen such great progress from our students and we know that these tools can only help them succeed and achieve great educational success for their future.
