This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a special education setting, and many of my students have sensory integration differences due to diagnoses like Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

My students often experience dysregulation at school due to sensory integration dysfunction and trauma.

These sensory tools such as..... will support my students in staying calm and grounded in order to support their learning.

I offer my students a cozy spot in the classroom for when they are feeling overwhelmed, but I need more tools. I currently have beanbag chairs and rugs, but my students need more sensory options to help them regulate and get the input they need. Support my students by helping me purchase a weighted stuffed animal, noise cancelling headphones, and fidget toys.
