Sensory Tools for Classroom Success!

Help me give my students sensory tools like fidgets, wiggle seat, putty, and tents, to help support their self-regulation skills and to help them be better able to calm and focus themselves!

My Project

The sensory materials and tools I am requesting are to support my students in strengthening their self-regulation skills. My students are exceptional learners with special educational needs. They have a range of disabilities from developmental disabilities to autism spectrum disorder, which can impact their sensory functioning and how they process being in their environment.

Addressing sensory needs helps my students improve their self-regulation skills, and they are better able to engage in their learning and participate in the school environment.

The tents give my students a place to go when they are over stimulated. The wiggle seats and weighted blankets and pillows help to focus them when they are seated at circle time. Sensory fidgets are tools to keep hands busy, so their minds can focus. Scarves, putty, and sand are materials to address tactile sensory needs. When my students have the sensory tools they need, they are better able to self-regulate themselves to be successful learners.
