This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class forms part of a diverse community of learners in the heart of our community. A typical day in my classroom involves challenging students to overcome their fears as learners.
The school I am currently working in is a Title I school that services children of different backgrounds and learning abilities.
Students are exposed to hands-on activities and collaborative groups to form meaningful and long-lasting learning. My students are always eager and attentive to learn new things every day.
My Project
Today's school community is surrounded by students of different learning styles and abilities. As teachers, it's important we meet the needs of these students. In order for us to support these students, we need to find the appropriate tools and resources. My students are in need of lap tables, weighted lap pads and sensory fidgets to ease anxiety and meet their individual learning needs.
The materials requested will help my students of special needs feel comfortable by providing alternative learning options to help them master fundamental concepts and skills throughout core academics using their favorite learning preference.
Lap tables, weighted lap pads and sensory fidgets are tools designed to help students feel comfortable and keep calm and focused in class. These materials will directly impact my students by stimulating a sense for learning and participation.
