Help me give my students necessary sensory items to help maintain attention and regulate behaviors, like bean bag chairs, chair bands, and balance discs.
My students have a wide range of abilities and challenges. I have kindergarteners and first graders in my class. Most of my students have Autism as well as other disabilities that make school a little extra challenging for them, but they are just normal kids who crave opportunities to learn and grow.
My students have so much potential for independence that I'm striving to help them achieve.
They have a few extra stumbling blocks in their way, but I truly believe that they are capable of so much.
There are many resources that my students will need to develop their academic, social, and behavioral skills that I don't have access to. I want to provide them with a positive learning environment equipped with the tools they need to thrive in kindergarten.
My Project
My students have a variety of abilities and educational needs. Many have sensory needs that are currently not being met in my classroom because I don't have the resources. Yoga mats, sensory toys, chair bands, bean bag chairs, balance pads, and other sensory items will help my students maintain attention in group lessons as well as independent activities.
These materials will increase learning time and decrease negative behaviors.
The sensory toys, balloons, and bubble blowers can also be used for reinforcement to help my students increase positive behavior and promote independence.
Storage items and office supplies will help me organize my classroom and materials so that I will better be able to meet the needs of my students.
