My Project

I am currently a special education teacher for thirty 2nd and 3rd grade students. Multiple students on my caseload have sensory processing needs and rely on having access to sensory supports and fidgets to enhance their ability to focus and learn. As a special education teacher, I have seen firsthand the positive impact that these tools can have on students.

Sensory supports such as chair bands, noise cancelling headphones, sensory walls, and fidgets provide comfort and regulation for my students.

Fidgets, in particular, are small objects or toys that can be manipulated discreetly to help students stay focused and regulate their emotions.

By incorporating sensory supports and fidgets into my classroom routine, I have witnessed remarkable improvements in my students' ability to stay on task and participate actively in lessons both in my room and in their general education classrooms. By providing them with the necessary supports, we empower them to succeed academically and thrive socially.
