Sensory Supports for Young Scholars

Help me give my students sensory support items to create a safe and calming environment as well as a classroom mailbox organizer!

My Project

The products I selected will help support student's sensory needs within the classroom. Over recent years, I have worked with many students who benefited from different sensory support items whether it be bouncy bands for chairs, wobble stools, sensory strips, or even light covers to help prevent headaches from harsh fluorescent lights. Each student has unique needs that need to be met in order for them to perform their best.

My students are noticeably more engaged and able to complete their work when their sensory needs are met.

Another need for our classroom is a mailbox system to keep papers and folders organized. Our current storage unit is cardboard and falling apart after many years of use. With moving to a new grade next year, it would be the perfect time to replace it for my third graders to benefit from. It also allows the students to learn responsibilities and life skills by having a classroom job as a mailperson.
