Sensory Supports and Learning Tools for My Special Learners!
Help me give my students a calm, sensory-friendly classroom where my special education students can thrive, while also providing essential supplies to support their learning every day!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an incredible group of students with diverse abilities in a self-contained special education classroom. My students face a range of challenges, including sensory processing differences, communication needs, and emotional regulation difficulties. Despite these hurdles, they come to school every day with excitement, curiosity, and a drive to learn.
My students benefit tremendously from a classroom environment that meets their sensory needs and provides them with the tools to succeed academically and emotionally.
This project will help fund sensory tools like therapy putty, slime, bubbles, alternative seating options, and stickers. These materials are essential to supporting my students’ sensory regulation, focus, and motivation throughout the school day.
Having access to calming and engaging sensory items allows my students to better manage their emotions, remain on task, and participate more fully in classroom activities.
In addition to sensory supports, we also need basic teaching supplies like printer ink and paper. These supplies allow me to create individualized visual supports, communication boards, adapted worksheets, and data sheets — all critical components for special education instruction.
With these resources, I will be able to better meet each student's unique learning needs and ensure that our classroom remains a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
