This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My new group of 6th graders have many sensory needs. The items that I have requested will help support their needs both in the classroom and when they need to take a break.
My goals for this project are to provide my students with sensory tools that will help them self-regulate.
The sensory items I am requesting include weighted blankets, fidget toys and a trampoline. Students will also make use of a balance ball chair during instruction to get the wiggles out.
I have learned that my students are more successful when their sensory needs are met. They are a great group of kids that have a strong will to learn and grow.
