Help me give my students the tools they need to help regulate their sensory needs!

My Students
Welcome to Mrs. Elder's classroom! I have 10 wonderful, thoughtful, and creative students with special needs. Daily, my students come to school to work on academic and social skills. My students work hard to increase their skill levels in reading, writing, and math everyday, but sometimes they need a little help to stay on task. My students have been working on identifying when their body needs a break from learning. The next step is to start identifying tools to help their body refocus on learning.
With your support these students can be afforded opportunities they greatly need in order to achieve high academic and social expectations.
My Project
My students are hard at work all day long! Sometimes my students need a break to help meet their individual sensory needs.
Using social thinking curriculum, my students are learning to identify when their bodies need a break to help them refocus.
Once identifying that they need a break, my students are working on selecting tools to help them refocus and get back to work. Some of my students need items to squish, squeeze, build, draw, and/or view to help them refocus.
My goal is to create a break area in the classroom for students to their break and then return to their work without disrupting other learners.
