My students are hard at work all day long! Sometimes my students need a break to help meet their individual sensory needs. Using social thinking curriculum, my students are learning to identify when their bodies need a break to help them refocus. Once identifying that they need a break, my students are working on selecting tools to help them refocus and get back to work. Some of my students need items to squish, squeeze, build, draw, and/or view to help them refocus. My goal is to create a break area in the classroom for students to their break and then return to their work without disrupting other learners.
