This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
All of my students are living with Autism. They struggle with task focus, concentration, and body control. Their minds are bright, but sometimes they are over stimulated by the school atmosphere. I have requested sensory balls, a weighted blanket, and sensory seats of different kinds to help my students.
My classroom consists of 5 bright boys and 1 great girl.
My students are special in their own way; such being a good singer, being a good friend, being an artist, being a good basketball shooter, and having a great smile to brighten your day. They come everyday to an urban school setting. They are bused to this specific location to support their specific learning style.
My Project
I would love to support my student's everyday learning by giving them solutions to controlling their bodies and minds. My students can feel overwhelmed within their own bodies and by providing them with ways to level out their sensory input, they would be able to concentrate and attain more academic success.
By donating to this project you will be giving many autistic students the opportunity to attain academic success in a more therapeutic setting with tactile balls, a massaging bug, a soothing blanket, and many more items made specifically for their needs.
This project will provide students with a greater chance to focus and attain more knowledge at this level in their lives and only promote greater success for their futures.
