My Students
My students are passionate and enthusiastic learners, who inspire me each day. Our school is located in a lovely small town in West Michigan. The students in my room come to me from all walks of life and at all different levels. No matter where they come from or where they are starting from, they give their best and strive to improve to their highest potential! This, in turn, creates an environment that pushes me to be the best I can be and help to continue to elevate them!
My Project
One way that I can make the classroom more friendly for my 4th graders is by bringing in sensory tools such as light filters. 9 & 10 year olds have so much on their plates in school today and it can be overwhelming! By creating a calming environment, I am able to help lessen anxiety and set my students up for success, both academically, but emotionally as well!
This project would help me in promoting a student-friendly environment.
Light filters have helped many other classrooms in our school by reducing the glare from harsh fluorescent lights that strain young students' eyes. The light filters would also create a calmer classroom ambiance.
