My Project
I love that my students bring unique strengths, perspectives, and ways of learning to the classroom. They thrive with hands-on, engaging activities and benefit from sensory supports that help them focus, self-regulate, and feel comfortable in their learning environment.
Sensory feet cushions improve focus and concentration, with a textured cushion that relaxes and soothes as kids wiggle their feet and tap their toes.
Tap and write CVC word cards will be used during small group to encourage good handwriting skills as students record missing letters in the Primary writing line in each missing letter box. Unlike ordinary pencils, with the sand tray, there's a rich tactile and fun way to write in the sand, used to train hand muscles and form memories until they master the correct letter structures. The visual schedule and big timer will help my students keep track of their daily schedule with the timer and large visuals, especially the non-readers. Therapy putty and fidget toys will be used as a fidget tool for anyone who needs their hands to be busy and it can also be used as a stress reliever. Pencil grips for my students who need to improve their handwriting; as well as give more control and reduce handwriting fatigue. Number line dry erase boards will be used to support the students who need to add and subtract pro lessons using number line strategies. Sentence building games will help my students learn how to construct and complete sentences.
My goal for this project is to enhance sensory regulation, support diverse learning needs, and create a calming environment. We will also improve engagement and focus, as well as promote emotional well-being.
