Sensory Success: Empowering Early Readers With Autism

My Project

Many students with autism benefit greatly from sensory-rich learning experiences that engage their senses and make reading fun and accessible. I am seeking funding to purchase a set of sensory books designed especially for young learners in my classroom. These books include tactile elements, interactive textures, and bright visuals that help students build early literacy, language, and fine motor skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Your donation will directly support our youngest readers by providing resources that encourage engagement, reduce anxiety, and help every child feel successful with reading.

Sensory books allow children to explore stories in hands-on ways, making it easier for them to connect with what they're learning and express themselves.

With your help, these sensory books match different reading levels, interests, and sensory preferences among my kindergarten and first grade students. These books will be used during story time, independent reading, and small group activities, ensuring that all students have opportunities to participate and grow. Your generosity will help create a joyful, welcoming classroom where every child can develop a love of reading from the very start.
