Sensory Success and Mystery Motivators

Help me give my students sensory tools, mystery motivators, and tools for organization.

My Project

My special education students love working for sensory breaks. They enjoy earning reward time and often choose sensory toys. My students would greatly benefit from these new sensory gadgets in our classroom. Knowing a reward is coming, helps to keep my students focus and engaged throughout our lessons. The fidget toys will help them get the sensory input they often crave. After breaks, they are more willing to participate in lessons and continue learning for longer periods of time. My students also love writing new words using white boards and Expo markers. The new set of markers would enable them to keep practicing their learning. I can get rid of the old, dried out markers!

I use a reward system in my classroom.

When students earn a certain amount of stars, they get to choose something to do for a reward. They often ask me for a prize box. But, I don't have one. These mystery motivators will give me the opportunity to start a prize box. I would love to surprise my students with a new reward for their hard work.

Finally, the phonics poetry book and zipper pouches are necessary components from the Orton Gillingham approach to teaching reading. I recently had the training, and would love to incorporate their methodologies into my classroom. I am in need of a new teaching tools in order to do so with fidelity!
