Sensory Stations

Help me give my students multiple ways for their sensory outputs. In the Autistic setting my students often need sensory output in order to learn but our classroom is severely lacking in choices.

My Students

My students are from a small community outside of New Orleans. I teach in a Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten Autistic classroom. My students have very diverse needs in regards to sensory output as well as the way that they learn.

It is very rewarding getting to work alongside these students in achieving their personal goals.

Some of these goals may take weeks or months to master but the students put in the effort to make it happen! My students are a joy to work with and deserving of having a great education and positive environment!

My Project

These materials will help my students to increase their focus. We will be able to start our day with an easy to use calendar that they can use to learn the days of the week, the months of the year, as well as the weather. While we do out calendar the students can use sensory fidgets or sit in an alternative seat.

My student will then be able to get the sensory output that they need in order to learn.

Whether it be bouncing on a trampoline for a few minutes, manipulating the kinetic sand, or using a fidget toy. They will be able to regulate their body and increase their focus.
