Working with neurodiverse students means it is my job to find ways to make sure their school environment is conducive to the way their brains process the world. For most of my students this is their first time in a classroom setting and their sensory systems are often in overload.
My students are so easy to love and I want to do everything I can to provide them with all the tools they need to make their school experience positive and meaningful.
It is my goal to provide them with a calming space and calming tools both in their classrooms and therapy spaces. With the things like a blackout tent, weighted blankets, and beanbag chair they can be taught how to regulate their sensory systems in order to feel safe, secure and ready to learn!
