My Students

I work with a group of thirteen, imaginative and active minds in my classroom! With each student, I am finding that they have unique abilities and strengths that make them who they are. In our room, we have 13 students with varying abilities so our lessons and activities are differentiated to meet each student's needs. I have some students who are typically developing, some with autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and many other varying needs. My class is inspiring in the way their passion and determination increase their progress daily! I've learned at this age, the beauty of how my students see each other simply as friends and don't notice or pay attention to the differences of others. They help, love, and accept each other for who they are and I am learning more and more from them each day I get to be their teacher. Each one of my students is creative, courageous, and world-changers. We love to try new, bold, and exciting things in our room and I want to provide my students with experiences and memories that will last them a lifetime!

My Project

Our sensory room serves our kids with special needs so well! On our PreK hall, we have a room dedicated to making sure our students with sensory processing needs have the tools and safe place they need. In our room, we have had a large sensory swing that our kids absolutely love! This has helped with so many sensory breaks, incentives, and positive reinforcement strategies for our kids with special needs. Our swing has gotten so much love that it finally gave out and broke!

Our PreK classrooms could use another sensory swing for our kids to have in our sensory room!

In addition to a sensory swing, our kids would love a bubble tube and a tent to also help with sensory processing and give some input and help our students with processing needs regulate their emotions. The sensory swing, tent and bubble tube would help transform our sensory room to a fun and safe place for our little ones!
