Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am teaching a group of PreK students who have a number of different sensory struggles. The weighed stuffed animals will be used to help the students focus and stay with the group during read alouds and mini lessons.
My students need positive ways to help calm their senses.
Many of them are overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the classroom. The fidget toys and sensory spinners will help them focus on one thing, which will help relax. The sensory rings and digging toys will be placed in our sensory table. All the other items will go into the “Cozy Camp”, which is an area in our room designed to help everyone self-regulate.
We will use the books to reinforce all the ideas and tips we give the students. These items will be such a help for so many of my children.
