My Project

I teach in a special education unit at the elementary school level. I am trying to create a safe and calm space for my students who frequently become overstimulated in the normal classroom setting. I have a wide variety of students who have a wide variety of needs and I am looking to ensure that I can create a safe calming space for all of my students.

My students love bright colors, sensory items, vibrations, music, lights, etc.The sensory wall panel will allow my students who need extra support to take a sensory break or for them to use as a tool for learning and understanding cause and effect with the different items located on the sensory wall.

The rainbow mat will be an extra protective layer for those students who aren't able to calm their bodies. I have a vision for an area in my classroom already to utilize these items.
