Sensory Seating: Helping Improve Focus and Calm in the Library

Help me give my students sensory seating so that it might help them to get the extra movement they are ‘seeking’ while also increasing their attention while listening to the read-a-loud books in library.

*One seat per students means no-one is left out, everyone can have the opportunity to sit on a sensory seat

*I believe all students will benefit with a little wiggle to their sitting while listening to a read-a-loud

*The cushions are easily moved, we will not be confined to one space

*My goals are to improve attention while listening to a read-a-loud and therefore also increase the number of books they get exposed to.

*My students are special in that every single one of them is different and as such they deserve to be exposed to all kinds of reading materials that represent them

*The more attentive the students are, the more books we get to read together, the more likely they are to find one they see themselves in or are interested in *bottom line, more exposure to more books is always a good thing!
