Sensory, Science and Fine Motor for Unique Learners!
Help me give my students a variety of sensory and fine motor items to engage in at school. The Easy Grip Foam Sensory blocks are tactile and motivating for students who are learning to grasp items.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach severely handicapped and medically fragile high school students with various levels of abilities. Our classroom is incredibly unique and it does not look or feel like a typical high school classroom, but my students are teenagers and young adults just like their typically developing peers.
When my students come to my classroom I want them to feel excited, welcomed and loved.
I want to provide experiences that they may not have anywhere else. It's my hope to provide them with a space to feel safe, happy and motivated. This is the key to helping them reach their goals and thrive!
My Project
Having a variety of activities for unique learners with varying abilities is so important to my classroom.
The most important thing to me when my students come to school is to make sure their minds are actively engaged and their spirits are high!
Student ability levels vary greatly in my classroom, from students who are in wheelchairs and need full physical hand over hand assistance to students who are mobile, active and need a selection of activities to keep them busy while fulfilling their sensory and fine motor needs.
Some students in my room are learning to hold items and make purposeful movements, such as holding a cup to drink from. Sensory items that are textured or squishy will motivate these students to hold a variety of objects while they learn the functional skills needed for daily living. Other students are simply learning to look at an object and interact with it, such as young children do with cause and effect toys. Having unique items in my classroom for students to engage in keeps them curious about learning.
