Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are currently raising funds to enhance our sensory room. It already has a few items, but it could greatly benefit from additional items and resources. Our goal is to purchase sensory items to create a stimulating environment for our students in special education. With your help, we can provide a safe, calm, fun, and engaging sensory room! What is a sensory room?

A sensory room is a classroom that provides sensory input to help meet our students' needs; your donations will help us fill the room with items that meet student needs!

The room will assist our students in taking a break, processing and regulating their emotions, improving their focus, and building their confidence in a safe space.

Items such as the galaxy projector and fluorescent light covers help provide calm lighting in our room. The sensory tent and sensory tunnel provide fun and relaxing spaces for our students to sit in and explore. The balance beam, balance board, and bike provide physical sensory input and whole body movement. The sequin wall inspires creativity and sensory touch.

Thank you for considering our project. This will not only benefit the students in my classroom, but other students in our special education classes too, Pre-K through 6th grade.
