Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class are preschoolers with Autism, ages 3 to 5 years old. They come from a variety of homes with diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds. Our school is in a low-income community.

Although they are all non-verbal, my students have found a way to communicate their love and learning in so many ways.

I currently have 8 students in my class and our connecting class has 7 students. We share our Sensory Room together and are in need of replacement equipment for the items in there that have been well loved for many many years.

My Project

Many many years ago, an amazing Preschool Education Teacher got a grant to build a Sensory Room for our students. This room includes a Therapeutic Swing, a Ball Pit and several other great pieces of equipment that are perfect for the Sensory Integration needs of our students.

This room has been very well loved by many students throughout the years.

Many of the items have since broken and are in need of replacement. Please help us to replace the broken See-Saw that helps promote social interaction and our trampoline which is a favorite of many children. These items are an important part of some of our students' sensory needs and overall fun!
