This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love teaching my students with special needs! The items I have requested will not only benefit my students but also other students in my school who are in need of a sensory room.
Our students with special needs would greatly benefit from the soft shell chair with the cushion by Environments and the portable pop-up play tent as well as the other sensory items requested in this project.
Many of our students have autism along with a variety of other disabilities. They all have physical and emotional needs that make it difficult for them at times to manage their emotions. The soft shell chair will provide a comfortable safe environment for students to regulate their emotions. The portable pop-up play tent will provide my students with enjoyment as they receive much-needed sensory breaks to help them cope in their learning environment.
Our students need sensory breaks when they are overstimulated and a place to calm when overwhelmed. These items will help me make a sensory room that will greatly benefit our school!
