My Project

I teach a life skills special education. My students are amazing and brighten my day every single day. Every year, as a special educator in a self-contained classroom, I get students with different needs. This year, I have a few students with very high sensory needs.

By donating to this project, you will be helping me provide my students with safe sensory outlet options.

My hope with this project is that my students will find safe ways to fulfill their sensory needs.

The items listed in this project will go into a sensory room for my current students and many students with similar needs in the future. The liquid floor tiles, sensory wall mats, and sensory touch lights provide students with fun ways to explore their senses. The peapod chair, body sock, and sensory tent are things that can help the students feel enveloped and safe when they are feeling unregulated. The medicine balls and dinosaur punching bag will allow students to get out some of their energy in order to feel more calm and ready to learn.
