My students and Mrs. F's are fun, loving, active, and cheerful kids who love to be around one another, but sometimes struggle with sensory overload.
Working in specialized classrooms, we have students of multiple grade levels and with a wide range of academic abilities. We strive to provide them the best environment to foster their growth both academically and socially.
Working in groups is something they love, yet can have a hard time with. Sometimes they need a sensory break to get grounded and be able to come back to class and engage 100% with their friends and in their learning. Our students have huge hearts and are so deserving of everything good in life. We cannot wait to see the growth these kids make being provided an environment that fosters their social development and includes a sensory break room that allows them to recharge when needed!
My Project
Every student deserves the tools and resources needed to maximize their learning experience. Students in a specialized classroom often need a break; an opportunity to ground themselves, in order to make the most of their education. We have the space for a proper Sensory Room, but in its current state it more resembles a utility closet or small, empty office.
A well-equipped Sensory Room will give these students what they need to thrive - a chance to re-set and return to the classroom ready to do their best.
