Sensory Regulation Improves Independence in the School Environment

Help me give my students weighted lap pads, exercise putty, wiggle cushions and other sensory resources to help them regulate their sensory systems to improve focus and participation.

My Project

The resources requested for this project will directly assist my students with special needs in learning how to regulate their sensory systems to improve their social-emotional and academic learning impacted by COVID-19. I will provide students with flexible seating options and tactile fidgets which will enable them to regulate their sensory systems and increase their focus and participation in school activities. These pencil grips, brain flakes, special scissors and other sensory resources will also provide my students with opportunities to increase their fine motor coordination skills (cutting, writing, self-help skills, etc.) which will help improve their overall independence and confidence in the school environment.
