Help me give my students appropriate sensory tools that help them manage their sensory needs effectively. These sensory items would provide a safe and calming option for students who seek oral sensory input.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students with autism often have sensory sensitivities. I am seeking your support in enhancing the educational environment for our students. This includes a need to chew which can act as a form of sensory input that helps regulate their nervous system. Chewing can provide a focal point, which can help children with autism improve their focus and concentration on tasks or activities, along with reducing anxiety and stress.
The sensory chew toys will provide a safe and calming option for students who seek oral sensory input.
The noise canceling headphones would help students concentrate by reducing overwhelming auditory stimuli in their learning environment. The fidget toys will assist students in focusing and calming their minds by providing tactile stimulation, and the arm protectors will serve as a safeguard for our dedicated staff, offering protection against accidental scratching while supporting students’ needs.
Our students will thrive when they have access to appropriate sensory tools that help them manage their sensory needs effectively.
