Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are lively and energetic. They also all have autism, which means they struggle to communicate at times. Most of them are using communication books or iPad's with communication apps to tell us their needs or use very short sentences. They are all sensory-oriented students, but all in different ways. Some of my students like to play with fidget toys and others like to jump around on the trampoline.
My students are younger, usually between kindergarten and third grade, and they certainly are full of energy!
They always keep me on my toes! And I am never bored with them around.
My Project
All of the students in our classroom have autism and all of them have different sensory needs. In years past I have purchased many of these sensory items on my own. Well, over a few years use they have finally started to break down or come apart.
The donations that you provide will help meet my students sensory needs to help them focus on their work throughout the day.
Many of our kiddos will participate in their classroom work to be given a chance to play with these toys. Some also need them to reach their own individual goals to interact with cause and effect toys.
