My school is a public school serving pre-k students only. It is located in the high poverty/low income part of the county. 93% of our students receive free/reduced lunches. My pre-K classroom is mostly made up of children with a variety of special education needs. They are such an awesome, fun, and active group.
They love books and sensory play!
However, my students are not able to attend school due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I would love to get so books and items for sensory play into their hands at home.
With your support for this project, I know that you can help my students acquire these learning tools, which is a key component to learning academic, social/emotional, and motor skills.
My Project
Many of my students are from low-income homes and suffering during this COVID-19 pandemic. Our schools are closed and non-traditional instruction is very difficult. Their parents are having a hard time making ends meet and nothing is left to purchase educational materials for their preschooler.
Preschoolers need books and sensory activities in their hands!
These supplies will help my students to develop and to grow. They will bring a little joy to their lives during this difficult time.
