Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low income families. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. They have therapy which includes Occupational and Speech Therapy. My students are all unique and have incredible abilities. Some just need some more support throughout the day!

A lot of my students need help in the social and emotional side of school.

We work on regulating our emotions and what to do when they are upset. We also use a lot of sensory tools throughout the day to help keep some regulated. A lot of times my students need a calm area in their classrooms to help with the regulations of emotions.

My Project

I am a first year teacher working with special education students in grade levels K-5. My students need a safe place to go when they need help with regulating their emotions. These objects will help while they are in a heightened emotional state by calming them down.

My students need a safe place to go when they are upset.

This will help in the small group sessions I teach. This will help them focus and regulate faster to be able to come back to class and be successful in their learning. Thank you for supporting my students!
