My Project

The students that visit the ZenDen have unique abilities and to access these they come down to go through the circuit: trampoline, self propelled treadmill, bike, punching bag and platform swing. These activities help regulate their bodies so they can be more successful in the classroom. I am always surprised how much sensory some students need throughout the day. Not only will the mats be used for the swing, our OT and PT use the zenden to work with students on their goals and objectives. Whether they are ASD, cognitively impaired, physical impairments, core muscles training, ADHD, emotionally impaired or someone that needs a break, the ZenDen is used by everyone in the school, pre-k - 5th grade. The swing mats I have were given by the PE teacher over 10 years ago and are ripping and held together with zip ties and tape. These new mats are bigger, held together with Velcro providing a safer experience for the students. Being the number one activity in the Zenden, I want to make sure they are safe. Please help this project last longer than my teaching career.
