My class is designed for students with severe/profound disabilities. Students are nonverbal and communicate using various methods including sign language, picture exchange, and technology devices.
My students love 1:1 time to work on academic and independent functioning goals.
Differentiation is common in the classroom and sensory activities are a fan favorite. My students enjoy learning via hands-on interactive lessons and experiences. Counting during mathematics instruction using manipulatives is a favorite time of day, and many varied objects are used for learning.
My Project
These materials will make a difference for my students by giving them more opportunities to learn math skills! Counting using puzzles and objects is a favorite in class. By introducing various visuals from real world objects, the students will have more interaction and excitement during math instruction.
Sorting and grouping is a skill often worked on and will be aided by these awesome and colorful number counting games.
They will also have more opportunity for sensory breaks when needed in class. The bean bag chairs provide additional support for students in wheel chairs when needing a break. Thank you for your support!
