Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
Each day, my students come to my class to receive the extra support and individualized attention they require to meet their academic goals.
My students face significant struggles in their general education classrooms and are often overwhelmed and extremely frustrated. I am committed to creating an environment that supports their academic needs, social-emotional growth, and behavioral milestones. Flexible seating, sensory stations, and materials that support their learning challenges are all essential for my classroom's success. My classroom is where students can learn in the way that works best for them!
My Project
These materials are for students who are hands on learners that love using sensory tools to aide in their learning. These materials will be utilized to develop a math center that creates a more hands on approach for special needs students in the RSP setting. By providing the students with a space to utilize sensory tools and manipulatives of various sorts to help with overall retention. Also, to make the learning experience more exciting while increasing attentiveness during classroom activities.
The ECR4KIDS dry erase table will be used for small group instruction.
Providing the students with a hands on alternative to pencil and paper activities. The scented dry erase markers will provide a twist for the students, creating an additional olfactory sensory experience. The magnetic smiley face dry erase markers provide motivation for the students to engage in self-correction.
