Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hi! I teach elementary, life skills children in grades 1st-3rd. These are children with various abilities and disabilities. They are very capable of learning and I am so proud of the progress they make!
All this learning is exhausting!
My students require scheduled sensory breaks to get through the day. I am requesting a sand table to house the requested kinetic sand. Kinetic sand is amazing and serves so many purposes. First , it’s too much fun and the sensory experience is amazing. Second, it’s great for dramatic play as various, themed toys are rotated in . Also, kinetic sand supports fine motor growth. Many of my students have fine motor deficits and require direct intervention. It’s fun to pick treasures and wiggle eyes out of the sand!!!.
Lite Brite serves the same purpose. It’s great fine motor practice, supports creativity, and is just plain fun!
We are busy bees and blow through glue sticks, markets, and crayons!!! We are also all out of Kleenex.
McAllen, Texas is listed as one of the poorest areas in the country. My parents do what they can, but they have limited resources.
