This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a passionate National Board Certified Education Specialist working in a high school setting. Our school is a Title I school serving a diverse population. The students I work with are determined and strive to persevere through social, emotional, and academic challenges. My Community-Based Instruction (CBI) class has worked on the yearbook staff, attended school activities, volunteered in the community, and served on the (ASB) Associated Student Body. They excel with movement and hands-on experiences. I am blessed to be their teacher and strive to encourage students beyond their greatest expectations.

As the semester comes to an end, some of my students are struggling with core concepts such as counting, encoding, and decoding.

These are life skills that my students need to be successful in high school and beyond. Sensory tools like jump ropes, hula hoops, and balls will allow my students to practice these skills in a kinesthetic environment. We will move, jump, laugh, and practice counting, encoding, and decoding. Thank you for providing my students with the necessary life skills supplies.
