Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In therapy, students are working on skills to help them regulate their emotions. When they are in a controlled environment, they experience success with their grounding techniques. In the moment of being emotionally overwhelmed, it can be hard for them to remember to practice their skills.
Calming keychains can provide students with a visual and tactile reminder to use their grounding techniques.
Students will be able to decorate both sides of their keychains with sensory stickers. The keychains are easily hooked to their ID lanyards or backpacks. The keychains won't cause distractions in school or disrupt their learning. The sensory keychains will benefit the students in therapy, in class, in the halls, and at home.
