This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students have developmental disabilities. They love to learn, but there are a ton of factors that effect their ability to engage in classroom activity. An enormous barrier for them can be sensory stimulation. The items I'm asking for could be a great help for these sensory issues!

I have AWESOME students!

They love life, and love learning. They are excited to follow the school routine every single day. They love being able to access new knowledge, and are pumped when they master a new skill! These skills can be anywhere from learning advanced algebra to being able to say "hello" to a peer.

My Project

My students will use these materials every single hour of every single day. My students need more breaks from work than the average person, and they often struggle to transition from task to task. Research has shown that these sensory items can play a tremendous role in allowing my students to decompress, and make faster transitions between tasks.

These items would make a gigantic difference in my classroom for all of my students!

This would provide them more opportunities to engage in learning activities more often. Currently, my students aren't always able to decompress from their sensory needs due to a lack of sensory items. These items will benefit them every day!
