My Students
My goal is to create a classroom environment where my students feel comfortable and they are learning in a space that is conducive to growing in their education. Creating a space for students to sit more comfortably and work is helpful for student engagement and focus. I have many students who have sensory needs this year and all materials will be used to support student learning and achievement. Having flexible seating options can assist students in focusing on learning and provide them with a more comfortable, relaxed space to be successful.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students learning by providing them with tools to help with their sensory needs. Many students are having issues staying seated and focused. With these items, it will provide them with an opportunity to fulfill that sensory to support their learning and keep them in the classroom.
The weighted lap stuffed animal will be used to help students stay seated when they are feeling like they need to move.
The desk bands will help my students who need to have movement throughout whole group instruction when they may need to sit longer than they can.
The magna tiles will be used for students who are might need a sensory break during their day.
