My Project

I’m a self-contained special education teacher, and my classroom is new to this campus. Right now, we don’t have many resources to help our students manage their emotions and stay focused during the school day. I’m asking for your support to help build a calming sensory room and provide classroom tools that promote self-regulation and concentration—so our students can be their best, happiest selves while learning.

My students are incredible kids with diverse learning needs, including Down Syndrome, Autism, and Intellectual Disabilities.

They’re bright, curious, and full of joy—but sometimes they just need a quiet, soothing place to reset. While we do have a designated sensory room, it’s currently very limited. With your help, I’d love to turn it into a warm, welcoming space filled with calming tools and sensory supports.

The wiggle wobble chair feet help turn any chair into a wobble chair. I have several students who attempt to lean their chairs in an unsafe way, seeking vestibular input. The wobble feet allows them to wiggle the chair in a safe way.

The tumbling mat will create a safe place for students who are extremely dysregulated to be on the floor during difficult behaviors. It will prevent head bangs on the floor. It can also provide a safe place to roll and turn summersaults on days when we need indoor recess.

The sensory peanut ball, liquid floor tiles, artificial fish tank lamp, and calming ceiling light covers will create a calming environment that will offer visual and tactile stimulation, aiding in sensory integration and promote gross motor development.

Your donation will help create an environment where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Thank you so much for considering a gift to our classroom—we truly appreciate it!
